Scholarship Opportunities

Children of Members Scholarship
Firelands Electric Cooperative awards $10,000 in scholarships each year to outstanding high school seniors who reside in a home served by the co-op. The young man or woman chosen as Firelands' top overall applicant is also eligible to compete for an additional scholarship, worth up to $3,600, at the statewide contest, sponsored by Ohio's Electric Cooperatives. Click here for more information.

Touchstone Energy Achievement Scholarship
This scholarship recognizes graduating seniors who have overcome personal challenges in their pursuit of an education, and who may not qualify for more traditional scholarships. Firelands will award the top applicant a $1,000 scholarship. Click here for more information.

Louise Freeland Scholarship
Four $2,800 scholarships are available to children of employees and trustees who are graduating high school seniors and are not eligible for other scholarships offered by the cooperative. Scholarships are awarded annually, following an interview of the finalists in Columbus. The scholarship is named after long-time cooperative employee Louise Freeland, who retired in 1990. Click here for more information.

Ohio Line Supervisors Association Scholarship
Three scholarships, in the amounts of $2,000, $1,500, and $1,000, are available to children of employees who are graduating high school seniors and are not eligible for other scholarships offered by the cooperative. Scholarships are awarded annually, following the interview of ten finalists in Columbus. Click here for more information.
