    Firelands Names New General Manager
The Board of Trustees of Firelands Electric Cooperative has selected April Bordas as the new General Manager of the organization. April will replace John Noss, who is retiring on July 13 after 40 years with the cooperative.

       
    2010 Annual Meeting of Members
Members of Firelands Electric Cooperative said goodbye to a long-time general manager and greeted his successor during their 72nd Annual Meeting Saturday, June 26, at the Ashland University Myers Convocation Center.

    Home Energy Consultations
Firelands is offering home energy consultations to members who are home owners, and are seriously considering a significant investment to improve the energy efficiency of their home. If you are renting, please discuss this service with your landlord.
       
   

Alerts To Your Cell & E-mail
You can now sign up to get updates and alerts sent to your cell phone and/or E-main address. You’ll be notified in advance of planned maintenance outages affecting your service area, and receive updates on stormrelated power outages. You can register to receive text messages on your cell phone or have messages e-mailed to you — or both.

Firelands awards $10,000 in scholarships to area youth!
Firelands’ Senior Scholarship Contest is offered annually to children of co-op members who are graduating high school seniors and reside in a home served by Firelands.  This year the Cooperative was pleased to receive applications from students attending Ashland, Crestview, Hillsdale, Lucas, Madison, Mapleton, New London, Seneca East, South Central, Western Reserve, and Willard schools.

       

 

Firelands announces the 2010 Youth Tour winners!
Candidates are evaluated on knowledge of rural electric Cooperatives, school and community activities, and demonstrated leadership.  Firelands’ Youth Tour Contest is offered annually to children of Cooperative members who are a high school sophomore or junior, residing in a home served by Firelands Electric Cooperative.

       
   

Community Assistance Programs
Agencies in Ashland, Huron, Lorain, and Richland Counties may be able to help with delinquent electric bills. Federal home rehabilitation programs, sponsored by the Ohio Department of Development, are available throughout the state.

       
    Firelands' Mystery Photo Contest
One lucky winner will be drawn from the entries that have correctly identified the place and approximate location of our mystery photo. Any member who identifies the mystery photo by the May 7 deadline will be entered in a drawing for a $25 bill credit for electricity from Firelands.
       

 

Firelands Recognizes Cooperative employees.
Employees of Firelands are recognized for successfully completing additional training, certification or celebrate a marked anniversary with the Cooperative.
