Career Scholarships

CAREER SCHOLARSHIPS

In 2026, Firelands Electric Cooperative will award two $1,000 scholarships for those who plan to enroll in a career or vocational-based program. One $1,000 award will go to an outstanding high school senior who lives in a home receiving its power from the co-op and has a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. An additional $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to someone who lives in a home receiving its power from the co-op and graduated prior to June 2024. Links to all scholarship materials and applications are located at the bottom of this page.

These scholarships are intended for programs that will earn the recipient an associate degree or other certificate of completion beyond the high school level. Examples include, but are not limited to, dental hygiene, phlebotomy, nursing, vet tech, electrician, HVAC, plumbing, auto mechanics, welding, and machinist. Applications are due by 4 p.m. on Jan. 23, 2026. Selected finalists will be invited for a personal interview at Firelands’ office in New London on Monday, February 16, 2026.

PLEASE NOTE THAT OUR SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS MUST BE COMPLETED ONLINE THIS YEAR.

Applications for must be submitted by 4 p.m. on January 23, 2026.
