Payment Options

  2. Payment Options

Payments can be mailed, paid at the office, deposited in our night drop, or accepted over the phone with a consumer service representative 24/7 by calling 1-800-533-8658. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover and electronic check. Other options include:

AUTO PAY (AUTOMATIC BANK DRAFT) - Save time, checks, and postage each month by utilizing the co-op's auto pay service that automatically deducts your Firelands Electric payment from your bank or credit card account on the 14th day each month.

BUDGET BILL PLAN - This free service makes managing your cash flow easier by providing predictable monthly payments throughout the year. Budget billing helps avoid seasonal high energy bills by creating a consistent monthly payment based on the average of your previous 12 months of electric use. Members do need to have at least 12 months of residency listed in their name at the current address to enroll, and billing accounts must be paid current to enroll. Budget payments are due on or before the 14th of each month, and failure to do so will result in the member losing privilege of being in the program.

The cooperative has a budget program “catch-up” month every August. Any credit or balance due on an account for the budget year ending August 1 is reflected on that month’s bill. Our cooperative representatives review budget accounts quarterly so a larger than normal catch-up amount can be avoided. Click here to view a sample budget bill.

SMARTHUB ACCOUNT ACCESS - Firelands Electric's SmartHub application puts the power of data in our members' hands by providing detailed usage and billing history, including bill comparisons and weather data. The setup process for new users is simple and all you need is your account number. Firelands Electric's SmartHub App is easy to navigate and gives members the ability to report power outages and receive important notifications directly on their mobile device. The convenient mobile application allows members to access their account and energy use, schedule future payments, and receive important notifications regarding their electric service. Click here for complete instructions on how to set up your SmartHub account.

SMARTHUB PAY NOW ACCESS - Firelands Electric's SmartHub PayNow is a payment system for members who want to pay their bill without having to create an online account. Pay Now does NOT require any online registration, and can be accessed using only a billing account number and last name/business name.

When accessing SmartHub, make sure that you are using the latest version of your web browser (i.e. Google Chrome, Safari, etc.). Click here for details on how to update your browser to the newest version.

THIRD-PARTY PAYMENT WEBSITE WARNING: Please be aware that third-party payment websites, such as Doxo.com, are NOT affiliated in any way with Firelands Electric Cooperative. These sites may use the co-op's logo and information, but payments made through them are not guaranteed and often involve added charges. Payments made through such sites may not arrive on time, may not be applied to your account properly, and could result in late fees or disconnections. Please do not use third-party sites when making a payment to the cooperative. If paying online, use the cooperative's SmartHub website or the SmartHub app – which are always free.
