  2. Payment Options

Payments can be mailed, paid at the office, deposited in our night drop, accepted over the phone with a consumer service representative 24/7 by calling 1-800-533-8658. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover and electronic check. Other member services include:

AUTOMATIC BANK DRAFT - Save time, checks, and postage each month by utilizing the co-op's automatic bank draft service that enables your Firelands Electric payment to be automatically deducted from your checking or credit card account on the 14th day each month.

BUDGET BILL PLAN - This free service makes managing your cash flow easier by providing predictable monthly payments throughout the year. Budget billing avoids seasonal high energy bills by creating a consistent monthly payment based on your previous 12 months of electric use. Members do need to have at least 12 months of residency listed in their name at the current address to enroll, and billing accounts must also be paid current to enroll. Budget payments are due on or before the 14th of each month, and failure to do so will result in the member losing privilege of being in the program.

The cooperative has a budget program “catch-up” month each August, when any credit or balance due on an account for the budget year ending August 1 is reflected on that month’s bill. Our cooperative representatives review budget accounts quarterly so a larger than normal catch-up figure can be avoided. Click here to view a sample budget bill.

SMARTHUB ACCOUNT ACCESS - Firelands Electric's SmartHub account system puts the power of data in our members hands, by providing detailed usage and billing history that includes bill comparisons with weather trends. The setup process for new users is simple and all you need is your account number. Firelands Electric's SmartHub App is easy to navigate and gives members the ability to report power outages and receive important notifications directly to their mobile device. The convenient mobile application allows members to access their account, energy use, schedule future payments, and receive important notifications regarding your electric service. Click here for complete instructions on how to set up your SmartHub account.

SMARTHUB PAY NOW ACCESS - Firelands Electric's SmartHub PayNow access is a payment system for members just want to pay their bill without having to to create an online account. Pay Now does NOT require any online registration, and can be accessed using only a billing account number and last name/business name to access the account online.

When accessing SmartHub, make sure that you are using the latest version of your web browser (i.e. Google Chrome, Safari, etc.). Click here for details on how to update your browser to the newest version.
