APPLICATIONS FOR 2026 ARE NOW OPEN.
STUDENTS DO NOT NEED TO BE MEMBERS TO APPLY!
Firelands Electric will be selecting up to 25 high school students to join us for a FREE, all-day chartered bus trip to the Ohio Statehouse in Columbus on Thursday, October 22, 2026.
This trip is a wonderful opportunity to explore Ohio's government, history, and politics! Students will tour the Statehouse, meet with legislators, and much more. Lunch, breakfast items, snacks, and drinks will be provided.
To be eligible, students must be in grades 9-12 during the 2026-27 school year and attend one of the schools in or around Firelands Electric Cooperative’s service territory (Ashland, Huron, Lorain, or Richland counties).
Our short online APPLICATION (see bottom of page) only takes a few minutes to complete and must be submitted by 4 p.m. on Friday, September 11.
* To be eligible, students must be in grades 9-12 next fall (2026-27) at a school in or around the cooperative's service territory (Ashland, Huron, Lorain, or Richland counties). They DO NOT need to be co-op members.

* Students are responsible for arranging their own transportation to and from one of the two pick up/drop off locations: Firelands Electric Cooperative, 103 Industrial Drive, New London or Ashland County Park District Davy McClure Education Center, 748 County Rd 1754, Ashland.
