OPERATIONS, PROJECTS, & WORK PLANS
After nearly 90 years, Firelands Electric Cooperative continues to be a resilient member-owned utility, operating on a not-for-profit basis while providing reliable and affordable power to more than 9,280 homes and businesses across 31 townships in four counties.

Our cooperative’s primary goals are reliability — keeping the lights on for our members — and keeping the cost of electricity affordable. For us, this includes finding the right balance of investment in ongoing maintenance, while also making sure we are adequately planning and preparing for the future. ELECTRICAL SAFETY
You can't see it, smell it, or hear it, but you can feel it. One touch can be deadly. Electricity always seeks the easiest path to the ground. It tries to find a conductor, such as a metal ladder or your body. If you touch an energized bare wire or faulty appliance while you are "grounded", electricity will instantly pass through you to the ground, causing injury or electrocution. Firelands Electric Cooperative is concerned about your safety too.
