College Scholarships

2026 APPLICATIONS ARE NOW OPEN!

COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP

In 2026, Firelands Electric Cooperative will award $10,000 in college scholarships to outstanding high school seniors who live in a home receiving its power from the co-op and who have a minimum GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. Applications are due by 4 p.m. on Jan. 23, 2026. Selected finalists will be invited for a personal interview at Firelands’ office in New London on Monday, February 16, 2026. Links to all scholarship materials and the application are located at the bottom of this page.

 

PLEASE NOTE THAT OUR SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS MUST BE COMPLETED ONLINE THIS YEAR.

 

Ten students will be awarded scholarships as follows:
 

  • First place: $1,800
  • Second place: $1,600
  • Third place: $1,400
  • Fourth place: $1,200
  • Four Judges’ Choice awards: $1,000 each

The first-place winner will also be eligible to compete for additional scholarships worth up to $4,600 from Ohio’s Electric Cooperatives during the statewide competition in Columbus on April 7, 2026.

Applications for must be submitted by 4 p.m. on January 23, 2026.
