In order to encourage children of employees to further their education and give them an opportunity to develop promising careers, the Ohio Line Supervisors Association offers an annual scholarship. Three scholarships, worth $2,000, $1,500, and $1,000, will be awarded to outstanding students whose parent or guardian is an employee of one of the 25 electric cooperatives in Ohio.
What are the entry requirements?
Applicants must be a high school senior or high school graduate whose parent or legal guardian are an employee of Firelands Electric Cooperative or other Ohio electric co-op. (Note: Applicants who have graduated several years ago may apply as long as this is their first time attending college -- CCP classes excluded.) Applicants must have a "C+" (2.5 GPA) average or better, and candidates are evaluated on their scholastic record, personal achievement, leadership, school and community activities, and cooperative knowledge. Up to ten finalists will participate in a personal interview at the OEC offices in Columbus.
All application materials are available at the link below. Completed applications should be submitted to OEC in Columbus via the online portal, per application instructions. The deadline to apply is February 3, 2025.
