Appliance Rebates

Firelands Electric offers rebates to cooperative members who replace their existing electric refrigerator, stand-alone freezer, dishwasher, clothes washer, clothes dryer, and/or dehumidifier with a new model meeting the requirements listed below. These rebates are only available to members of the cooperative. Current rebate program is effective July 1, 2025 through June 15, 2026. Appliances must be purchased and installed within the past 12 months to qualify for rebates and incentives, and the existing appliance must be removed/recycled (except for dehumidifier).

NOTE: As of January 1, 2026, Firelands Electric will no longer require appliances to be ENERGY STAR-certified to qualify for a rebate. All other rebate requirements remain in place. (Applies only to appliances purchased November 1, 2025 and after.)

  • $100* REFRIGERATOR & FREEZER REBATE
Refrigerators and stand-alone freezers between 10 and 30 cubic feet can qualify for a $100 rebate from Firelands Electric Cooperative, as long as the old appliance is disposed of and the new appliance is installed at a location served by the cooperative.
  • $50* DISHWASHER, CLOTHES WASHER, & CLOTHES DRYER REBATE
Electric dishwashers, clothes washers, and dryers can qualify for a $50 rebate from Firelands Electric Cooperative, as long as the old appliance is disposed of and the new appliance is installed at a location served by the cooperative.
  • $25* DEHUMIDIFIER REBATE
Dehumidifiers with a minimum capacity of 50 pints/day can qualify for a $25 rebate from Firelands Electric Cooperative, as long as the new appliance is installed at a location served by the cooperative. (Proof of removal NOT required for dehumidifiers only.)

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS: Member is required to provide documentation, such as a purchase receipt, showing that the new appliance was installed in a home or facility served by the cooperative. Documentation showing that the old appliance was removed/recycled is also required to be eligible for all rebates, except for dehumidifiers.

All rebates are issued in the form of a credit to the member's electric account. Rebates may not exceed the purchase price and items must have been purchased in the past 12 months. If you pay less for your appliance than the rebate amount, you will receive the amount you paid. (With the January 1, 2026 program update, appliances purchased after November 1, 2025 are not required to be ENERGY STAR-certified. Those purchased before this date, but within the past 12 months, must have this certification to receive a rebate.) A maximum of six appliance rebates, totaling $375, may be paid per member service location during the current program year of July 1, 2025 through June 15, 2026. Note: New construction and used appliances do not qualify.

Complete appliance rebate guidelines and forms can be downloaded HERE [PDF] using Adobe Acrobat Reader. Completed forms with attached documentation may be submitted HERE or by mail.

*Firelands’ appliance rebate budget is limited. Offer expires when funds are depleted on a first come, first served basis, or when the program is discontinued. New construction and used appliances do not qualify.
