WHAT IS A GENERLINK?
Portable generators allow homeowners to power critical appliances such as furnaces, pumps, refrigerators, and freezers during a power outage. If you have a standby generator for emergencies, it is a National Electrical Code requirement that you also have an appropriate double-throw transfer switch installed. This protects you, your family, your home, and the cooperative's linemen.
The GenerLink is a common style of transfer device which allows you to connect a generator to your home's electrical system at the electric meter, making it easy to safely supply standby power to any circuit in your home. The device is a meter collar that is installed behind your electric meter. Simply plug one end of the power cable into the GenerLink and the other end into your generator to connect.
